Original Pairs ignite the shadow side of imagination with “Curiosity”

Original Pairs are back with a spooky new single, “Curiosity,” a gloomy dive into the eerie space between what inspires and what is obsessive. At the core of their forthcoming album, the track finds the band in their most introspective moment yet, exemplified by a moody tension of imagination run amok.

Singer Andrew Frontini's words hold beautifully in the song’s multiple performances. Inspired by a chaotic time that prompted her to reflect deeply on herself, the song distills the complex beauty of being caught between two realms.

What makes “Curiosity" more fascinating is its live-off-the-floor energy, a welcome departure from the time-consuming modern studio polish. Original Pairs never do that click track. Instead, they embrace imperfection as art and chase the emotional urgency that only a live show can reproduce. You can hear that authenticity in every note and bend of the guitar.

The feel is typically rock & roll revivalist, a heady blend of garage grit, rockabilly swagger, and psychedelic haze. With Lisa Logan on drums, Lynda Kraar on bass and keyboards, and Jon Loewen adding keys for the fun, the chemistry is evident, as the tonal fabric weaves dark with light to create something thrilling and human.
