Stormtuned and Maya Mikity turn the clock forward with "Time to Let Me Know"

Stormtuned has teamed up with bubbly songstress Maya Mikity in their new single "Time to Let Me Know," and it's impossible not to groove along to the infectious beat. It brings a feel-good, fun-filled, sun-kissed dance-pop number that seamlessly incorporates modern-day EDM elements but pays homage to the legendary 90s & early 00s eurodance era.

From the first beat, the track welcomes listeners into a swirling world of synths, thumping basslines, and euphoric drops that manage to sound familiar and fresh at once. Maya Mikity's vocals are an ear turner, her international vibe taking this track up a notch from the usual house business. Her breezy, clear-eyed approach sounds enviably easy and wholly suited to Stormtuned's sunshine-soaked production. It's the interplay between her voice and the stack of layered instrumentation that's the real hook, though, one that gets stuck in your head long after the track has finished.

What makes "Time to Let Me Know" distinctive is that it sounds very much like classic eurodance, but it doesn't sound derivative. The arrangement tips its hat at the transient period's euphoric, festival-primed beats, but there is a contemporary sheen here, rendering it just as likely to be heard in a present-day club as it would be in a late-90s dance hall. The song's jaunty rhythm and upbeat melody possess an infectious optimism that makes it ideal for radio and playlist rotation, demonstrating StormTuned has a good ear for striking a balance between memories and progressive ideas.

Its lyrics describe a universal condition, the push and pull of trying to find clarity and connect. But despite the many layers, the song never feels worked, it scarcely feels congested, instead retaining a scatty, blinkered aimlessness that mimics the frenetic sensation of sheer busyness in all its hyperactive glory. It's a song that asks you to cast aside the feeling, get on the dance floor, and live in the moment, and it's another show of StormTuned's knack for creating music that makes you feel good and resonates at the same time.
