Aaron Koenig’s "Love Yourself!" turns self-reflection into a soulful duet

"Love Yourself!" by Aaron Koenig is a new soft, reflective soul ballad that turns a very personal idea into a warm, collaborative musical moment. The song is based on the expressive piano playing of Argentine musician Nicolás López Soto, who also produced it. It leans toward simplicity, letting emotion and storytelling take center stage. The recording was done at Studio Constituyentes in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and the production has a personal and quietly striking feel.

"Love Yourself!" is about self-love, but it tells the story in a creative way. Koenig's lyrical conversation with his own reflection turned into something more exciting, a vocal conversation with French singer Nectaria. The idea makes you feel like you're talking to the person in the mirror, like in the classic Snow White story, but it's set in a modern, soulful way.

Koenig, who sings lead on this release, has never before decided to include Nectaria in a song. The way the two voices interact adds depth and personality to the piece. What could have been a lonely reflection becomes a fascinating conversation. Their voices flow through the song like two points of view meeting in the middle, one looking for something and the other answering, creating a natural emotional rhythm that is both sincere and thoughtful.

López Soto's piano, on the other hand, holds the whole song together. His playing gives the song its emotional core, moving it through its more reflective parts while still leaving room for the vocals to breathe.
