With its signature new wave of eccentricity and craftsmanship, Peter Litvin kicks off his latest album, "Exit Reality," with the first track entitled "Okay Alright." With playful energy, the music leaps out of the gate, delivering a fizzy cocktail of funky grooves, infectious hooks, and a charmingly offbeat spirit that feels both old school and new.
"Okay Alright" capitalizes on Litvin's fondness for the kooky and eccentric, borrowing from the shiny 90s pop-centric sensibilities, while applying a contemporary flair. It's music that doesn't take itself too seriously but is also filled with some serious earworm potential. That track made an obvious statement, "Exit Reality" is not your everyday pop record. Reinvention is something Peter Litvin knows a lot about. A singer, songwriter, composer, producer, actor, and filmmaker, Litvin has issued over 18 albums under other names that barely echo the one on his birth certificate, creating what's best described as an insane collection of diverse bodies of music existing in a universe created by total unpredictability. He also stars in the cult 2016 film Hectic Knife from Troma Entertainment, solidifying his position as a multihyphenate creative dynamo. In the studio, Litvin has worked with a diverse list of artists, such as James Arthur, Lauv, TryHardNinja, Captain Sparklez, and JJ Brine, which demonstrates his remarkable ability as a producer and mixer.
Hailing from Michigan, now immersed in the creative scene of New York City, Litvin is still absolutely breaking down barriers artistically. On "Okay Alright," he opens its doors for a while, into a place that's funky and fun and definitely his own. It's the sort of track that makes you remember why pop music can be pure joy, a little weird, a little surprising, and so catchy it's invincible.
