Le Concorde channels depth and brilliance in new single "Memorare" [Review]

Le Concorde's newest single, "Memorare," is a personal reflection that sees bright guitar work and heartfelt storytelling come together. The track pulls the emotional gravity of the spiritual journey on which it's based, while also providing the project's signature refined musical flourishes. One of the highlights for Le Concorde is that a dream has come true, working with legendary guitarist Paul Jackson Jr.

Renowned for his suave, soulful approach to music, Jackson's distinctive flourishes are easily identifiable and complement the tune exquisitely. But the solos on the recording were taken by the singer, in what was a brave and inspired choice. Added to this feel is that it's an almost casual affair, adding a feeling of intimacy into the numbers, making the guitar more than just a piece of headstock embossing that extends out from the song's voice.

Nourished by Le Concorde's cross-cultural pilgrimage of devotion and discovery, this track references sacred encounters with Mary, including a mystical experience in Montserrat before the Black Madonna. The song's climactic choruses even weave in allusions to Our Lady of Guadalupe, weaving personal faith with cosmic imagery in a manner that feels both grounding and soaring. Driven by glistening indie rock, expert guitar work, and a sweetly nostalgic sense of immediacy, "Memorare" is a vivid example of how an experience can be transmuted into art. Le Concorde gives us an intimate and epic track that draws you into its story.
