NBP Human's recent single, "The Fundaments," hits you like electricity to the soul.
"The Fundaments" is about when you found yourself in a confused space, playing the responsible wife and mom, but longing to go after your dreams. It's not just about a song, listen to this again and think of this as a manifesto for dreamers, believers, and those who are lascivious enough to return to the inner child. Driven by heavy-hitting guitar licks and a powerhouse rock setup, the song barrels ahead with the fury of a band on a mission. NBP Human do not play rock, they are rock, and they make an unassailable case that the genre still has much more to say.
It's readily evident from the opening chords that "The Fundaments" was made deliberately. The mastermind behind the project recorded track Ballazs Janky in a home studio, and that same attention to detail can be felt with every breath of the song. A reminder that great rock music isn't always conceived in million-dollar studios, but in bedrooms, garages, and wherever a heart beats for something more. The final product's polish owes much to Zsolt Gyulai's mixing and mastering work, which gives the song a sense of depth and punch without dulling its rawer edges. The result is a sound that is both classic rock and forward-looking classic rock, albeit reinterpreted for a new generation.
The tune strikes a chord with its message of returning to "The fundaments," the core values and childlike beliefs that make us who we are and ignite our wildest dreams. It is a perfect message for a time when we are all told to reach deep inside, stay true, keep our integrity, and keep moving, no matter what the world says and does to us.
