Hekatė emerges from the ether with luminous new single "Expand"

Hekatė's new single, "Expand," channels movement and rebirth. The track is a slow-burning, luminous reanimation, like watching breath return to a still chest or seeing a body remember its own pulse.

Constructed on slow arcs and grounded by a bedrock rhythmic pulse, "Expand" exists in a universe between sleep and wakefulness, silence and sound. Hekatė, who can blur the boundary between organic and ether, leads us into a world where form remains soft and edges only begin to cut. It's a moment of emergence of becoming, but unhurried, the track pulses with the hushed conviction of light dusting skin for the first time following darkness.

What's successful about "Expand" is the restraint. Bright tones hover and echo, always returning to that steadfast rhythm like footsteps on a muddy trail. There's a wordless intimacy to it all, the feeling of being met just before language. She is not hiding, and neither is mine. Mine is surfacing with me, our vision adjusting, and we are breathing again in a strange new air.

By the time you reach the end of the track, you are different, not dramatically, but deeply. The openness that seeps in does not weaken but strengthens it. It's the sensation of holding your breath too long and then having the opportunity to exhale a gentle unwinding that fills you rather than empties you.
