Dorian concept reimagines Yuma Yamaguchi’s “Concordia” in stunning new remix

A certain electricity occurs when visionary minds collide, and Yuma Yamaguchi’s “Concordia (Dorian Concept Remix)” is evidence of this. This mind-blowing rework from Austrian synth wizard Dorian Concept takes Yamaguchi’s atmospheric, cross-cultural composition to dazzling new dimensions.

Yamaguchi first wrote his “Concordia” for Japan’s largest-scale interactive beach art event, CONCORDIA, at Tokyo’s Odaiba Beach Park, where it was already a feat of sensory overload. Fusing his signature rapid-fire piano with lavish orchestral textures, futuristic beats, and a haunting vocal from Lanux, the track was a line-blurring synthesis of classical elegance and modern electronica. The remix, though, is a whole other creature. Dorian Concept is a Vienna-based producer who has worked with such artists as Flying Lotus, Thundercat, and the Orchestra and is known for his near-mechanical precision in rhythm and synth work. With “Concordia (Dorian Concept Remix),” he’s not merely a remixer, he’s an interpreter. By bringing in pulsing bass lines, spinning harmonic shifts, and his arpeggiated synth flourishes, Dorian Concept takes this piece into kaleidoscopic jam mode, even though it still maintains that meditative core of Yamaguchi’s original.

The remix kicks open with fog and gradually adds syncopated synth lines that dance around Lanux’s otherworldly vocal. It’s jazz, glitch, and orchestral pop packed in a glistening ribbon. No matter how much this road curves, the dynamic shifts are stunning and seamless. The track seems to be taking breaths and growing all around us.
