The band AIGEL is back with "Barsı Da Bezdä," the first single from the upcoming killer LP Killer Qız, which was released on March 28. This new single is a proclamation.
Wholly in Tatar and set to open with an aside from "Barsı Da Bezdä," which unfurls like a chilling incantation, it will offer another take on the paranoid universe. AIGEL plumbed the fine line between submission and survival. The track pulses with minimalistic urgency, tense but spacious enough to make each word hit like a heartbeat.
AIGEL has always walked the tightrope between openness and confrontation, yet it etches a deeper rift here. Vocalist Aigel Gaisina cuts through the electronic landscape with poetical density, and Ilya Baramiya's production simmers, nothing roars, but everything is in motion. A restlessness runs beneath the surface, as though something were being unearthed in real time.
It's featured on Killer Qız, the duo's second album sung entirely in Tatar, and it leans into the motifs of loss and rediscovery, death and rebirth. "Barsı Da Bezdä" must feel like a farewell and a beginning, an emotional reckoning. Unsurprisingly, that was the track AIGEL pulled up electromagnetic energy to power the rest of the album. It's raw, almost ritualized, but thoroughly contemporary.
