Wisp shares new single, "Sword"

Wisp sheaves her latest sonic blade in "Sword," the first taste of a daring new chapter. With 2024 already being a breakout year for her, thanks to her stellar Pandora EP, "Sword" feels like a natural evolution and a bold statement, a brutally beautiful rendering of the internal tumult beaten into something sharp, glimmering , and inarguable. As festival sets line up for Coachella and Bonnaroo, a massive stadium run with System Of A Down, Wisp is ready for a year to remember.

"Sword" slices through the noise from the first breath with chilling precision. A gulping high-treble bass starts it off, providing a tentpole for Bissett's vocals to float weightlessly over the soundscape, which features crisp snare pops and jagged guitar strums. There's a thrilling tension in how every sonic element occupies its own space, separate but symbiotic, like a constellation of stars burning in perfect isolation. The result? A desperate, angry track that doesn't want to be pinned down, with a pulsing heart.

"Sword" is, at its heart, an indie pop fever dream intoxicating on first listen but even more potent when returned. It's a lasting track that I can feel chorusing in my brain like a whispered secret or a knife just shy of skin. Wisp calls forth experiences. And if "Sword" is any sign, this new phase will be her most exciting yet.
