Ruby Waters has officially announced her highly anticipated debut full-length album, "What's The Point," an audacious, soul-baring statement confirming her as one of alternative music's most captivating voices.
Clocking in at 32 minutes and 18 seconds, "What's The Point" consists of 10 tracks that lace listeners directly through the passenger seat of Waters' world, a road trip through love, rebellion, late-night drives, and existential pondering. Formed with longtime collaborator Sam Jackson Willows, "What's The Point" is unfiltered emotion and unguarded honesty, drenched in a corpse of melodic yet grungy alt-rock sonics.
Waters calls the album an inward-looking affair, saying, "What's The Point" is allowing me to grow and shed some old skin. I hope it does the same for others. The title "What's The Point" is just a reiteration that we are always walking a fine line between two polarities of existence of meaning or non-meaning. "I hope this album is a big warm hug to whoever needs one."
Standouts include "Sour Patch" and "90 to 99," which capture Waters' signature blend of gutsiness, fervor, and unsparing storytelling. From anthemic rock bangers to meditative ballads, each track exemplifies her knack for turning life's nuances into a vivid, immersive adventure.
