Shannon Hudson braves the storm with new single "Run Into The Arrows"

Shannon Hudson is no newcomer to storytelling. His new single, "Run Into The Arrows," is a poignant anthem about courage, love, and facing life's inevitable challenges head-on. Fusing the soulfulness of classic rock 'n' roll with the bare-bones frankness of folk, Hudson offers a song that already sounds timeless and very personal.

Drawing on an epiphany he had while training for a half-marathon that running towards fear might be its form of overcoming, Hudson wrote about running toward what scares us. "They say to run facing traffic for safety," he says, "and I realized I was running towards danger but I was not scared. That realization stayed with me." That duality of fear and resilience, risk and reward, became what the song was about.

Laced with deep, vintage tones and Hudson's customary old-school charm, "Run Into The Arrows" bears the influence of rock pioneers Buddy Holly, Elvis, and Eddie Cochran (a blood relation). There's nostalgia here and a palpable immediacy. Hudson's lyrics and melodies seem as relevant today as they could've been in some bygone era.

Hudson vibes off the simple pleasures of life: floating in the pool with his wife, watching his son play baseball, soaking in those small, fleeting moments that fill a lifetime. That genuine, heartfelt authenticity makes "Run Into The Arrows" a reminder to embrace the unknown, scars and all.
