For Big Jon, video games are more than a fun pastime, they offer a chance to compete, think strategically, and feel the thrill of beating an opponent. In his song “Level Up,” he channels that passion into music, drawing inspiration from the excitement of diving into a game and fighting for success.
Big Jon recorded “Level Up” at Lounge Studios in New York City. This track showcases Big Jon's love for music and gaming, blending his personal interests into a creative piece rather than just picking a popular topic. The idea of living inside a video game opens up a world of creative possibilities. Games are filled with challenges, opponents, progress, and the drive to win. By imagining himself in this environment, Big Jon turns the common experience of playing a game into a song about determination and triumph. “Level Up” also carries meaning. In gaming, leveling up means making progress, earning rewards for hard work, and preparing to face tougher challenges. This concept can also represent personal growth and the joy of pushing one's limits.
Big Jon has spent years developing a musical style that combines traditional hip-hop with a modern flair. This mix creates a unique sound that fits well with the energetic vibe of a digital battlefield. What sets “Level Up” apart is how closely it relates to Big Jon's personal interests. Instead of keeping music separate from gaming culture, he uses the gaming world to express himself, turning the quest for victory into an inspiring theme for his song.
