LIOR GOLAN boards the “Midnight Trains” and turns years of struggle into rock that heals

Some music arrives simply as a collection of songs. LIOR GOLAN's "Midnight Trains" feels more like a chapter finally brought into the light.

The five-track EP marks Golan’s first professionally recorded project, making it an important milestone in his musical journey. What makes the release even more meaningful is the road behind it. The recordings spent four years on his laptop while Golan found his way back to earnestness, focus, and the music he wanted to create.

Recorded at Shardo Studio in Israel on its impressive SSL console, "Midnight Trains" carries a distinctly live, organic character. Simultaneous recording of bass and drums gives the project a natural sense of movement, while Niv Hovav’s keyboard work and layered guitar textures add depth to the five-track experience. Professional mixing and mastering complete the project, resulting in a record shaped by patience, struggle, and healing. Across its 23-minute-and-32-second runtime, "Midnight Trains" stays rooted in unflinching rock, carrying an emotional purpose that goes beyond simply making noise. Golan’s aim is clear, to create music that brings light into a dark world and reaches people who may need its therapeutic power.

Among the standout moments, “CRUEL WIND” immediately leaves an impression, while the title track “Midnight Trains” adds another compelling chapter to the EP. “1991” also stands out as a memorable part of the journey, helping make the project feel cohesive without losing the individuality of its songs.

"Midnight Trains" is ultimately a record about making it through the night. It represents a dream delayed, a struggle confronted, and a creative voice finding its way forward again.
