Some songs hit their moment quickly. Others wait. "Again And Again" is getting a stunning second chance more than two decades after its first release for Presence. The Tallahassee nu-metal/hard rock band is enjoying an unexpected second life, highlighting a single that previously debuted on their 2003 album Rise.
Rise, released May 20, 2003, comes from an earlier chapter in Presence’s journey, one that featured a spell with Curb Records. Now, more than 20 years later, “Again And Again” is being rediscovered and brought back into the spotlight. There’s something inherently interesting about a tune returning to discourse after such a long hiatus. The present rediscovery of Presence reveals how older content can achieve fresh relevance over time, and how music can outlive the moment in which it was created. The song isn’t being considered a piece of history but is instead helping usher in a new chapter of attention for Presence.
