George Styles’ “How Will I Ever Know” is the story of artistic fate, teamwork, and a reunion more than two decades in the making. A track born in a period of creative stagnation forged a link between Styles and former bandmate Tommy Street, and between Styles and Gilmania Productions’ bassist Jeff Gilman.
Styles had a half-finished tune and was not sure where he wanted to take it next. Then a note from Tommy Street unexpectedly changed the course of the project and offered an opportunity to bring the longtime musical connection back into focus.
Street’s thunderous drumming was a given, so the next task was finding the perfect bottom groove. That search eventually led Styles online to Massachusetts bassist Jeff Gilman, whose contribution helped give the track the musical foundation it needed.
But the biggest significance of "How Will I Ever Know" is certainly the reunion between Styles and Street. Their coming together again to collaborate is a deep creative reunion 25 years after their days as bandmates and brothers-in-arms.
