Sweet Mess electrifies with anthemic new single "Violate the Night"

Phoenix-based rock group Sweet Mess returns with their original new single, "Violate the Night," It has a passionate sound that combines contemporary rock with an old-school vibe. From the very first note, you can tell this song is either a declaration of war or liberation, aided by Sylvie's bold voice as she flies into the soaring chorus.

Sweet Mess captures that same unapologetic spirit of rock legends like Pat Benatar and Joan Jett, but with the modern attack of Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless. The result is a noise that is both old and new, balancing fragility with heartfelt content and honed proficiency.

“VioLate the Night,” recorded at Mind’s Eye Studio in Phoenix, AZ, and produced in collaboration with engineer Larry Elyea, captures a band firing on all cylinders. Instrumentally, the music is taut and intentional, with Fer Lopez on lead guitar, Rob Watson on bass guitar, and Michael Hayes on drums. It is the ideal backdrop for Sylvie’s forceful singing. You can also feel the chemistry among the members, one part building on another to create something bigger than just a bunch of instruments playing.

The most wonderful thing about the track is how it mixes the personal with the universal. Sweet Mess doesn't just perform, they inspire you to own your defiance, individuality, and the thrill of telling your story. “Violate the Night” is not just another rock song, it’s a statement of intent and an interesting peek into what may be the next great modern rock band.
