With their new release, "We Rule Alone," AGGRESSORS POETRY sharpened their creative knife and took the furious independence first showcased on their debut promo track “My World” up to eleven. The new single, "We Rule Alone," plays like less of a sequel and more of a manifesto, a bold stride into the future despite all challenges, fueled by grit, hunger, and resolve to stand firm against any opponent.
Where “My World” embraced youthful fluidity, this song is something more battle-hardened. The songwriting has a visible sense of resolve, born from perseverance and self-belief. The behind-the-scenes journey makes the outcome all the more compelling. The project could have stalled without a signed-on vocalist from the outset. However, fate stepped in last April 2024 when the band met Kent Walseth. His commanding presence adds a dimension to the track, building its intensity with confident vocal contouring that feels as much intentional as it does organic.
Instrumentally, the foundation is rock-solid. Jon Vold provides aching, devout acoustic drums that pulse with urgency and drive, grounding the track in an organic source of force. Handling boards is Jon Tore Dombu of Skarp Studios and Trondheim Audio Devices, whose mix and mastering should hit with clarity and heft, lending the song its polished yet aggressive sheen. The collaboration with Walter Hildebrand adds another texture of identity, complementing the band’s aesthetic through great design and video.
“We Rule Alone” is a testament to resilience and timing, a song that comes from struggle, finished through collaboration, delivered with conviction. AGGRESSORS POETRY aren’t merely carrying on their story, they’re asserting dominion over it.
