Kid Camus transforms distance into a record titled “All There Is???”

Independent Guamanian artist Kid Camus gives us a very personal look into "The Time I Left Hagåtña," a two-song EP that feels more like a snapshot of a moment in time than a release. The single, "All There Is???" released by the label "antithesis of everything," captures an emotional pause between leaving, remembering, and the unresolved weight of home.

Instead of looking like a polished performance, "All There Is???" unfolds like an old artifact. The song is made up of lo-fi textures, live-room energy, and a confessional vocal style that makes it feel real and imperfect. It sounds like it was meant to be caught in the middle of a thought, echoing through rehearsals and recordings instead of being finished for good. That clarity is what makes it powerful: the music captures a feeling that hasn't yet settled.

The song is about leaving home, but not in a clear-cut way. It's more like something broken and still going on, and the artist seems stuck between where they were and where they're going, unable, or maybe unwilling to let go of either fully. The result is very human and speaks to anyone who has felt far away from someone, not just physically but also emotionally.

"The Time I Left Hagåtña" is about being displaced, being far away, and finding your identity. It was written during a time of change and distance. For Kid Camus, the EP serves as a timestamp and a quiet letter to home, and "All There Is???" sets that tone clearly and with restraint. It doesn't look for answers or a solution. Instead, it sits honestly in the question, what's left after you leave, and lets the silence around it speak just as loudly.
