Wild Oceans dive deeper with "Pieces" and showcases the heart of modern alt-rock

UK alt-rock outfit Wild Oceans have stormed back with a cracking new single, "Pieces", which follows their smashing debut, "Bloodbath". While their previous single debuted on national radio and racked up streams on Spotify and YouTube, “Pieces” delves deeper, showcasing a band with confidence, nuance, and ambition.

From the first riffs, you can hear that Wild Oceans have drawn inspiration from the best guitar bands of the last two decades, but they have still created something of their own. Jon Burnell’s singing skates smoothly over Phil Thomas’s searing lead guitar, eliciting a generous emotional space that is at once vast and intimate. Mark Lee’s bass and keys add a textured backbone, and Connor Tregido provides drumming that imbues the track with an edgy, restless drive, propelling it forward.

"Pieces" is much more than a follow-up single, it’s a statement. It features a band at the height of its creative synchronicity, mixing alt-rock force with the heat and polish of powerhouse rock & roll. Jump between pensive reflection and explosive guitar relief.

If you like modern alt-rock at all, and these guys are newcomers to the genre, I promise you will love Wild Oceans’ "Pieces". It’s also a song that demands repeated listening, with every new play revealing new details and textures. It suggests that while Wild Oceans may still be finding their place in the UK alt-rock scene, they’re a band to watch and listen to, on repeat.
