Daniel Freedman's unique release of the three-track "Rendez-Vous" EP, his latest extraordinary odyssey, will now give listeners the chance to experience their world for themselves.
Recorded at the Golden Conch Studio in Gainesville, Fla., "Rendez-Vous" clocks in at over seven minutes, but contains more creative depth than most other full-length albums. Crafted and created entirely by Freedman, the EP also features his own vocals, mixed with the harmonies of Joan Rochette and Leah, a layered sound that evokes a sense of collaboration, something new on his part but personal at its core.
The lead single, "Rendez-Vous", is a jarring mix of Cajun rhythms and liberal dashes of dubstep pulse, an unlikely collision between tradition and modernity that instantly wins over the listener. Freedman's smooth, layered vocals glide effortlessly along the beat, delivering a track that sounds like a late-night dance under the Southern stars. Just as irresistible is "It's Time for Christmas (Alternate Mix)," a modern holiday anthem that exudes warmth and a sense of sentimentality. Freedman achieves this with a sense of flight and a playfully sincere delivery, making the whole thing sound festive without resorting to clichés, a perfectly placed closer that puts you in good spirits after all is said and done. In between, "No One Lives Forever" infuses Latin flair and introspection, threading the EP with rhythm and contemplation.
"Rendez-Vous" is a subtle yet generative display of Daniel Freedman's fearless artistry, where genres, voices, and emotions converge. It's not simply an EP, it's an invitation to share.
