Rising artist CherelleK has bared her soul and unzipped her journey with the release of her debut full-length project, "The Lovely Bones Mixtape." Now available on all streaming platforms, the 14-track mixtape documents her authentic, unvarnished life experiences, blending grit and openness into something that's undeniably her own.
CherelleK, born in Louisiana but now paving her own way in Austin's fertile music community, uses this debut like a diary in motion. She wrote each song on the project, and together they form a tapestry of moments that she has woven into her lovely bones, the pieces of life that have shaped her into an artist and a woman. Comprised of just over 30 minutes, "THE LOVELY BONES MIXTAPE" is simultaneously short and richly layered, pairing intimate storytelling with irresistible beats. Ranging from the confident cocksure strut of lead single "LAST NAME KOZAK", through to the gutsy resolve of "COMIN' BACK", and whip-smart self-determination of "DONE WITH THE TALKIN'", CherelleK is serving up heart-on-sleeve honesty tinged with classic give that feels every bit as personal as it does universal.
The mixtape is preceded by "June 23rd Intro," for which Scuti created a visualizer, an attention-grabbing point of entry that prepares listeners for the emotional journey ahead. At the center of all 14 tracks is Cherelle herself, who exudes a bold, soulful, and unapologetically authentic voice. This project is everything I've held near my heart, my scars, my lessons, the balm of my strength and joy, CherelleK says. Every song is a bone in my body of work. Together, they hold me up.
