Boys Night's "100% Ghosts" is a pop punk triumphant anthem of perseverance [Review]

Pop-punk staples Boys Night Out are back, with their new single, "100% Ghosts," which is a heavy-hitting fusion of alternative and post-hardcore energy, featuring the band's signature balance of blistering musicianship with raw, emotional storytelling. The title might raise an eyebrow at first glance, as it's taken from a playful jest by vocalist Connor Lovat-Fraser about his wife seeing ghosts on their tour buses and in their green rooms.

Beneath all this humor is a powerful message about facing life's fears and moving forward when everything seems to be working against you. In musical terms, "100% Ghosts" unfolds as a two-part meditation. The first half is more introspective, capturing the anxiety and fatigue of battling personal demons. Then, like a wave hitting the shore, the second half enters with cathartic force, gang vocals, screaming passion, and swelling instrumentation come together to move triumphantly forward, as if reminding everyone that endurance isn't just a word, but an experience.

As for long-time collaborator Scotty Komer, who produced, engineered, co-wrote, and played bass on the track, he helps the band strike just the right balance of chaotic and clear. Every riff, drum fill, and vocal surge feels intentional, giving fans just what they have always loved about Boys Night Out as well as moving the sound forward. "100% Ghosts" serves as a reminder that even when up to his eyeballs in doubt and fear, the path forward is still clear. The new disc from Boys Night Out is a rip-roaring, adrenaline-laden purge of all the crap that's holding you back, and both fans of pop-punk and post-hardcore will find tons to love.
