The Bohemes detonate chaos and clarity in “What Happens When You Press Escape”

Dutch band The Bohemes has just released a fiery new single, "What Happens When You Press Escape." Hot on the heels of their earlier track "Always Out At Midnight," this new song is another bold step toward their upcoming album. It captures the chaotic energy of a wild night out.

The song was mixed by Barny Barnicott, who has worked with notable artists such as Arctic Monkeys and Sam Fender, and mastered by Tim Debney, known for his collaborations with bands like Kasabian and The Libertines. The music blends sharp sounds with a swirling rage, showing right from the start that The Bohemes are all about pushing boundaries. They draw inspiration from the catchy vibes of The Jam and the spontaneous energy of early Arctic Monkeys.

Frontman Léon Huisman delivers his lyrics with a sense of urgency, as if he's trying to keep everything from falling apart during a night out, with powerful guitars pushing him forward. The rhythm section, featuring Gabriël Huisman on drums and Dex de Fijter on bass, provides a solid backbone despite the chaos. Nigel de Vette's guitar adds a sharp edge to the song, creating an intense feeling that it could easily spiral out of control.

However, the Bohemes are not just about making noise. Beneath the wild exterior is a band that knows exactly what it wants to accomplish. Their music may sound reckless, but it's always purposeful. While the title suggests a chance to escape, the song confronts the very things we often run away from.
