John Salaway unveils "Your True Colors" with a bluesy bloom

Nashville, TN – Singer/songwriter John Salaway welcomes us into a place of deep feeling with the release of his single "Your True Colors" out today. Fresh and original, yet wholly blues, this music is grounded in classic blues but enriched with modern tones and verve.

Salaway uncages, writes, and performs every layer, finessing a decadent, private soundscape. "Your True Colors" isn't just a release, it's an unfiltered glimpse into his creative soul. Salaway's multitracked guitar work and vocal delivery are the sound of a midnight confession, earnest, unguarded, thoroughly human.

Peter Keys, long-time Organist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, is also featured on the single. His swirling organ and whirly effect also add transparent textures, like heatwaves rising off neon-lit sidewalks, which are both thoughtful and surprising at the same time. Peter Keys' keyboards provide counterpoint and accompaniment to Salaway's vocal. His soulful organ lines snake around the vocal like coils of gold, and he works the whirly sound effect and turns the tune into a billowing tapestry that's half smoky-lounge and half-open-road daydream.

Salaway's method pays homage to the blues' storytelling tradition, but without veering into cliché. There is no formula here. Instead, the rhythm feels lived-in and pulsating, the vocals are confident yet soft, and the production envelops it all with a warm, spacious embrace. It's handmade music, yes, but buffed up with some Nashville expertise.
