Mikuljoanz's “Turn On Your Light” illuminates the indie scene with a warm acoustic glow

Mikuljoanz, the indie music world traveler whose upbringing spanned continents and musical styles, returns with his latest single, "Turn On Your Light." This release subtly combines acoustic intimacy and electric fire, all carried on a propulsive beat, resulting in a sound that is familiar yet uniquely his own.

"Turn On Your Light" beckons the listener into a cozy, lush dimension, where gentle acoustic guitar interlocks with soft electric hues, cradling a velvety story now dressed in a rhythm and rhyme. The song offers a glimpse of Mike's storytelling prowess throughout the music, infusing the nomadic elements of his childhood into every note. The son of a military service member, Mike's life led him from sunny Puerto Rico to the windswept terrain of Iceland. It is a colorful upbringing from which his creative vision is drawn, and it infuses his music with a sense of the world that knows no place in space and time.

"Turn On Your Light" sounds like a diary entry from a self-taught guitarist who began his journey at 12 with a Ramones mixtape and a repurposed Harmony acoustic guitar. His inspirations, which include blues great Robert Johnson, the Beatles and their respective catalogs, Bob Dylan's descriptive writing style, and the Britpop coolness of Noel Gallagher, can all be detected in his work, providing the song with a beautiful cacophony of what he was made of.
