JERIKO’s "Running Out Of Luck Again" roars with defiance and drive

JERIKO's scorching new single, "Running Out Of Luck Again." Out April 7th on the outfit's debut LP, "Here Goes Nothing," It's a barnstorming testament to high-octane resilience for anyone who's ever been knocked down and then rose again, fists balled up tight.

JERIKO doesn't waste any time sucking you into their high-octane world from the opening bass notes. The production, recorded at the legendary Number Nine Studios in Ghent, which has produced some of Belgium's heavyweights, including Ramkot, Rhea, and The Subs, is a polished yet primal punch. It's no wonder, then, that this studio has become home to many groundbreaking sounds. JERIKO has now taken its place without hesitation. "Running Out Of Luck Again" Dirty guitar riffs scrape against sledgehammer drums, the vocals rising above as if a battle cry in a gale. The lyrics don't wallow, they bite. There's a haunting we've been here before quality about the lines, but that repeating push-pull of living when it seems like nothing's going right, yet you barrel ahead, just the same. It's not a song about defeat, it's about defiance.

Where many struggle anthems feel like laments, JERIKO inverts the script. They manage to imbue every note with sincerity rather than succumbing to despair. It's the sound of scars fluttering triumphantly in the wind, of walking through fire and expanding the blaze. For the dreamers who've had their teeth knocked in, this one's for you! Don't get it twisted. JERIKO isn't coming to play it safe, either. This single makes it obvious they're occupying their lane with intensity and no apologies. True, but if Here Goes Nothing sustains this level of conviction, it'll be a debut, and then some, it'll be a detonation.
