TWO TONNE MACHETE rip through silence with grief-laden anthem "HOME"

TWO TONNE MACHETE return in seismic fashion and at their saddest with their new single, "HOME." It is an emotional, politically charged post-punk lament that pierces the sound barrier as if with a knife crafted out of gut-wrenching sorrow and violent intent.

The track was the first new release since signing to a new label, and what a way to reintroduce themselves. It is a song that gets by on the bass, pulses in trepidation like an anxious heartbeat, and frets its way through a chilling guitar wail, exclusive of which the endless echo of mourning and battle might keep perfect time. The loud dynamic in its chorus feels like a clamouring tide, crashing waves of sadness and fury. Emily's voice doesn't carry the song. It hauls the bloated thing over her shoulder. There's blood in her voice, spectral and ferocious, that begs to be heard and harrowed with every line.

This song is about grief and how it's challenging to find a home in a space away from that sadness, states Emily. It's about the current masses of persecuted people whose homes, land, and lives have been abused and ripped apart by the lies and genocidal behaviours of those in power. "HOME" doesn't preach, it just burns.
