Valid takes us on a journey through time with the poignant new single "Places"

Valid is back with an evocative new video for "Places," one of the standouts from his latest album, "Peach Brandy." A highly personal love letter to his native lands, "Places" captures the essence of two continents: where his formative years in Serbia took place and his ascendance as an artist in Detroit. Valid sculpts an evocative portrait of nostalgia, resilience, and self-discovery using razor-sharp lyricism and visceral storytelling.

"Places" visual element adds even further gravitas to its message, elegantly interspersing archival footage from his 2005 visit to Belgrade with new takes on Detroit. This city helped form his sound. The effect is a poignant contrast of past and present, illustrating how both locations have made an indelible imprint on him as a human and an artist.

Valid has slowly carved out a name for himself on the rap scene. With a self-titled 2019 debut album, Mihajlo, in the rearview, his international reach quickly grew with the Plum Brandy EP, which performed exceedingly well in Eastern and Southern Europe. Even his work with Stretch Money as Bill & Isiah created a buzz, landing them a shining moment on Eminem's Shade45, a career highlight for Detroit hip-hop.

Valid shows his versatility with "Peach Brandy" yet again, and "Places" is one of its most harrowing highlights. Beyond being a song, it celebrates identity, culture, and the journey that defines who we are.
