Pillowprince released a new single, "Are the Straights OK?"

Pillowprince is back with their second single, "R the Straights OK? a bullet of a song, as stingy as it is satirical. To be featured on their debut EP, pretty, Baby!, due out in Spring 2025, "Are the Straights OK?" serves as a rallying cry for self-expression in ignorance.

Underpinning its infectious basslines and sultry guitar riffs, "R the Straights OK?" threads real-life microaggressions throughout its scathing lyrics. "Wouldn't you wanna be like me?" lead singer and guitarist Olivia Lee snaps, oozing through each line with a smirk and quickly flipping the script on outdated expectations. and "Honestly, you should give up your stupid art thing and get a real job." "Are the Straights OK?" crescendoes into a sneering, dreary slap. "Why don't you fix your hair like me? You could clean up nicely, though… you need a little makeup and a dress in the summer to find a breadwinner like the rest of us." It's a mirror lifted towards the upper crust, who believe they should get to say what authenticity is.

"Are the Straights OK?" is just as unwavering thumping basslines, driven percussion, and razor-sharp guitar work create an electrifying listen fit for both the dance floor and the mosh pit. Pillowprince are a hundred percent letting you know they are not here to play nice, they are here to stir the pot.
