Hazlett releases new single “Doing My Best”

Hazlett beautifully captures that in his new single, “Doing My Best,” a song that feels like an exhale after holding it all in too long. To be human is messy, tiring, and, at times, utterly overwhelming.

Hazlett lays it bare with gentle acoustic guitar, steady drums, and harmonies that embrace you like a comforting hug. His voice, ragged and raw, delivers lyrics that cut close to home:

“I’m good, but I’m a little bit upset. I told my mum I was doing my best. It’s too late to go and get some rest, so I guess I’m living in my head.”

“Doing My Best”  builds and falls away like the tide soaring one moment with layered vocals, retreating into hushed contemplation the next. It’s a frank look at the highs and lows of just being. Some days, your best is checking everything off your to-do list. On other days, it’s merely getting out of bed. And both are okay.

When he announced this new chapter, Hazlett explained how, over the past two years, he had been caught in a whirlwind that had made him turn to music again, reminding him why he had turned to music in the first place, “Navigating. Wondering. Searching.” “Doing My Best” is the dawn of a new era that promises a little more heart, honesty, and music that makes us feel less alone.
