ASH makes waves with debut EP "HOLDING WATER"

ASH, an Up-and-coming alternative R&B star, officially dropped her anticipated debut EP," Holding Water." The seven-song project blurs the lines of genre and feeling, combining elements of indie, R&B, and neo-soul. Shaped by haunting melodies and bilingual lyricism, ASH offers an intimate glimpse into identity, heartbreak, and self-discovery.

Born and raised in Beijing and now based in New York City, ASH wrote, produced, and performed every song on Holding Water, a vivid display of her expansive artistry and raw vulnerability. The project follows her debut single "Infatuated" and its follow-up "Reverse Psychology" and cements her as an artist to watch.

From the sultry rhythms of "Pearl" to the atmospheric pull of the title track, "Holding Water" is a masterclass in sonic storytelling. "Pearl" is a psychedelic interlude, where wispy vocals and mushrooming production envelop you in ASH's hazy landscape. "Holding Water" closes the EP with a breathtaking flourish that pairs pulsing instrumentals with ASH's silken, evocative delivery. Every track is like a diary entry, a window into mind and life.

Working with Grammy-winning mixing engineer Jeff Ellis (Frank Ocean, Doja Cat), ASH delivers a sound that is both polished and profoundly intimate, rich with substance that lingers long after the last note disappears. With Holding Water, she announces herself as a force in alternative R&B and as a visionary storyteller with a sound of her own.
